This is an example of the carb ID marking on a Stromberg WW carburetor. This number is stamped into the lid of the carburetor on a flat rectangular plate. In most cases the revision letter (A in this image) won’t matter, but once in a while the revision does take a different kit.
The carb number as shown here is 7-113A

The Stromberg Series WW Carburetor is a double barrel downdraft type with each barrel having its own idle system, main metering system, and throttle valve. The idle and main metering systems are supplemented by the float system, the accelerating system, and the power system.
Typical unit with vertical air entrance
Unit with horizontal air entrance
All models of the series WW carburetor incorporate the hot air type of automatic choke control. The model with horizontal air entrance has an external connection in the air horn to the “stove” in the exhaust manifold. It provides filtered air to the “stove” and the thermostat housing for operation of the automatic choke.
Other models of the series WW carburetor incorporate accessory equipment such as: overdrive kickdown switch, magnetic dashpot control, and kickdown limite switch. The first image shows a model with kickdown limit switch and magnetic dashpot control.
All series WW carburetors have the identification number stamped on the air horn cover, adjacent to the fuel inlet. Before attempting to repair or overhaul a carburetor, refer to the identification code number and secure the correct repair kit.
