A carburetor identification tag is attached to each carburetor, usually under of of the fuel bowl cover attaching screws. The basic part number for carburetors is “9510”. To procure replacement parts, it is necessary to supply the proper prefix and suffix. Some carbs also have the ID number stamped into the carb body itself, but not always.
Some Motorcraft carbs cross over to Holley and you’ll see both a Motorcraft number (xxxx-9510-x) and a Holley number (R-xxxx). Typically either one can be used to identify parts.
When searching parts in our catalog, we drop the “9510” and use the prefix and suffix only. Most Motorcraft numbers are in a “letter-number-letter-letter-9510-letter-letter” format. You’re using something like D4AZ-BA
