ADJUSTMENT FOR TYPICAL VARAJET

- Use choke valve measuring gauge if available. Tool maybe used with carburetor on or off engine. If off engine, place carburetor on holding fixture so that it will remain in same position when gauge is in place.
- Rotate degree scale, until zero is opposite pointer
- With choke valve completely closed, place magnet squarely on top of choke valve
- Rotate bubble until it is centered
- FIGURE 2
- Rotate scale so that degree specified for adjustment is opposite pointer
- Install choke thermostatic cover and coil assembly in housing. Align index mark with specified point on housing
- Hold primary throttle valve wide open
- On warm engine, close choke valve by pushing clockwise on intermediate choke lever (hold in position with rubber band)
- To adjust, bend tang on throttle lever until bubble is centered
- Remove gauge
SECONDARY LOCKOUT ADJUSTMENT (TYPICAL)

- Hold choke valve side open by pushing counter-clockwise on intermediate choke lever
- Open throttle lever until end of secondary actuating lever is opposite toe of lockout lever
- Gauge clearance - dimension should be as specified
- If necessary to adjust, bend lockout lever tang contacting fast idle cam
