Q: Have the original AA carb on my 303 Rocket and it’s leaking pretty bad around the throttle shaft. Is there a replacement or a way to fix this?

A: Leaking around the throttle shaft is not due to a bad or loose shaft, there should be no fuel in the throttle body at all. If you have fuel seeping around the throttle shaft it’s caused by flooding which can happen for a number of reasons.

• Leaking / heavy float
• Needle and seat not sealing properly
• Fuel pump pressure is too high
