The power jet controls the supply of additional fuel required for maximum power at wide open throttle and is often referred to as the economizer since it permits the use of a leaner mixture ratio during the cruising range of operation.

The power system consists of a power jet valve, and a vaccum controlled piston assembly for operation of the power jet.
