HOW IT WORKS

The power system provides extra mixture enrichment for heavy acceleration or high speed operation. The richer mixture is supplied through the main metering system in the primary and secondary sides of the carburetor.

The vacuum power piston is used for sensitive control of air/fuel ratios during moderate to heavy engine loads. When a drop in manifold vacuum occurs with increased throttle opening, the piston spring overcomes the vacuum pull and raises the piston, lifting the primary metering rod to position the smaller diameter of the rod in the metering jet to enrichen the fuel mixture for heavy power requirements.Adjusting the Power Valve

On the 2SE when you turn clockwise it’s to richen up and counter clockwise is to lean down. When you bottom out the adjustment you turn it up ½ a turn and that’s the base line. Not all Varajets have access to this adjustment from the top of the carburetor, some you do need to tear down.
