Rochester 2G, 2GC, and 2GV carburetors are identified in one of two ways. Pre (and post) 1968, the carburetors had an aluminum tag under one of the bowl screws with the carburetor number. Post 1968, all carbs were stamped with the carburetor number. This number is stamped into the bowl (not raised) in a horizontal line, most often near the fuel inlet.
This image shows the two locations that you will find the stamped number:

Don’t assume all carbs on a multi-carb setup are the same. OE tri-power sets will use one kit for the center carb, and a different kit for the two outer carbs. If you have an aftermarket or pieces together tri-power, you could need any combination of kit numbers. Be sure to compare the parts on each carburetor separately.
