To date there are 12 different B&B rebuild kits. There is no such thing as a ‘universal’ or ‘fits most’ rebuild kit. Save yourself a lot of time and money by ordering the correct rebuild kit the first time.

The carburetor number is on a triangular tag attached to one of the bowl screws. These tags were produced by Carter and came on all B&B carburetors. Some carbs also have the ID number stamped into the fin that runs across the top of the bowl. This video will show you were to locate the number.

Carter BB carburetors are typically marked on the side with the “Ball & Ball” identifyer. However, this can be misleading because this same imprint is used on the B&B 1-barrel, BBS 1-barrel, and BBD 2-barrel carburetors, all of which use very different parts.

This particular carburetor is missing the ‘fin’ that runs along the top of the carburetor. On some models this fin is much higher and the carburetor number is stamped along the upper edge.

Raised numbers that begin with 0-, 1-, 6-, etc. are casting numbers for the individual piece they are on, and they do not cross to rebuild kits or individual parts.
