Adjustment

NOTE: Mechanical fuel bowl vent valve should be open to carbon canister when engine is off and closed when engine is running. Make adjustment with carburetor on vehicle.

  1. Start engine to idle at CURB IDLE SPEED

NOTE: If equipped with solenoid throttle position, solenoid must be in retracted (de-energized) position.

  1. Adjust vent valve so adjustment screw just touches drive tab on pump lever.

  2. Turn adjusting screw ONE FULL TURN CLOCKWISE.

  3. Turn engine OFF.

  4. Observe that vent operating linkage pushes down on vent valve stem.
