The primary function of the float system is to regulate the fuel level within the carburetor's bowl. It works somewhat like a toilet tank's float mechanism. As the level of fuel drops, the float drops, opening a valve (the needle valve) that allows fuel into the bowl. As the bowl fills, the float rises and closes the valve, preventing flooding.

The kit also includes the 30-74 inlet filter. Use this filter, or the needle & seat filters, not both.
