Note: We assume the engine and emission control system is operating properly before troubleshooting the carburetor.
Make sure these things are done properly:
- carburetor to manifold nuts should be tight
- intake manifold to cylinder head mounting nuts should be tight
- air horn to main body mounting screws should be tight. Loose screws may permit air leaks
- fuel lines free of clogs, crimps, or fittings loose or damaged
- fuel strainger free of clogs
- carburetor float level properly adjusted
- idle speed and mixture adjusted properly
