FLOAT ADJUSTMENTS

IDLE VENT ADJUSTMENT

CHOKE ROD ADJUSTMENT

Check to be sure the idle screw contacts the fast-idle cam when the choke valve is completely open or completely closed. If the screw drops off the cam in either choke position, bend the choke rod until the cam is position correctly

UNLOADER ADJUSTMENT

With the throttle in the wide-open position, measure .230” to .270”, to verify the small end slides freely between the lower end of the choke valve and the bore of the carburetor. Bend the tang on the throttle lever as required to obtain the necessary clearance.

AUTOMATIC CHOKE ADJUSTMENT

Loosen the three screws that secure the choke cover, and then turn the cover until the scribe line on the cover aligns with the index mark on the choke housing. Tighten the cover screws. Note: many chokes are worn from use and we recommend setting them by feel rather than relying on indexing.
