There are many accelerator pumps for the Rochester 2 Jet carburetors.
- If you have your carburetor number: use that to match the correct pump
- If you do not have the carburetor number: compare the cup diameter and overall length of the existing pump
- The pump cup will be either 21/32” or 3/4”
- Overall length should be measured using a micrometer in 1/1000”
NOTE: We can not tell you what the original equipment pump would have been without the carburetor number. If you don’t have the number, we have to assume the pump in the carb is correct.
- No, we can not match a pump based on application (year, make, model)
- No, they are not “all the same”
- No, tri-power carbs do not use the same pump in all three carbs
- Yes, our pumps are manufactured in the US
- Yes, they are ethanol compatible to 10%
Quick installation tips
- DO NOT presoak pumps. This practice is out of date and your cup may swell up, soften, or roll when you try to install it
- Apply a dab of lithium grease to the pump cup at install
- Rotate the pump slowly as you push it down into the bore to prevent the cup from curling up
- Polish the pump bore with crocus cloth to get rid of any burrs or scratches
