ACCELERATOR PUMP STYLES
MOST THERMOQUADS USE THIS PUMP

YOU CAN ALSO PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT CUP

SOME USE A SOLID SHAFT LEATHER CUP PUMP

PUMP INLET CHECK
This is the pump intake. The pump brings in fuel through this check valve. The check ball is there so that it shuts off when accelerating, otherwise the fuel will return to the float bowl instead of out the main discharge.

ACCELERATOR PUMP STROKE ADJUSTMENT

NOTE: Accelerator pump stroke is determined by measurement of accelerator pump plunger height above air horn surface at curb idle. TQ carbs with staged pump systems require a second height measurement at a throttle position related to the secondary throttle lockout
FIRST STAGE
- Be sure throttle connector rod is in correct hole of 3-hole pump arm (or 2-hole pump arm)
- Use scale to measure height of accelerator pump plunger with linkage at curb idle positon
- If adjustment is needed, bend throttle connector rod at angled area
SECOND STAGE
- This adjustment is for staged accelerator pump systems only. Carburetors so equipped are specified in the specification table
- Manually open choke
- Open throttle until secondary lockout last is just barely applied
- NOTE: pump plunger travel stops at this point
- Measure accelerator pump plunger height with scale. Refer to specifications
